Empowering Education in Nepal
Empowering education in Nepal volunteering program offers to teach children in Nepal, and make a difference in their lives through education. Ms Lydia, a professional dedicated and seasoned educator from the USA, brought her passion for teaching to Nepal this past summer through her volunteering endeavours with us. At the Women Centre Nepal, managed by Volunteer World Nepal, she embarked on a mission to empower adult women by imparting essential skills in oral English pronunciation and delivering motivational messages.
With her expertise, Ms Lydia did not just teach language; she instilled confidence and encouraged the women to communicate effectively in English, thereby opening doors to broader opportunities. Her commitment to their growth was palpable as she patiently guided them through pronunciation exercises and shared inspiring messages, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Ms Lydia extended her educational outreach to local schools, catering to the academic needs of 3rd to 6th-grade students. She shared valuable techniques for reviewing and memorizing words, recognizing the importance of a solid foundation in language acquisition. Her interactive sessions engaged the young learners, making language learning both enjoyable and effective.
Ms Lydia conducted a pivotal session on the “Art of Instruction” for teachers, elucidating essential principles for effective teaching methodologies. She underscored the significance of clear instruction, emphasizing the need for educators to provide thoughtful practice and timely feedback to facilitate student learning. Through insightful discussions, she highlighted the distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, encouraging teachers to cultivate a love for learning within their students.
Ms Lydia’s contributions transcended mere instruction; she left an indelible mark on both learners and educators alike, igniting a passion for knowledge and fostering a culture of empowerment. Her dedication to education and unwavering commitment to making a difference exemplifies the transformative power of volunteering in shaping communities and changing lives.
