Encounter with the Buddhist Religion
Volunteering in a monastery is a great way to experience Nepal. Nepal is a centre of attraction for many tourists and volunteers because of its richness in culture, religions, and traditions. Volunteering in a monastery is the best choice to experience Buddhism. A monastery serves as the home for monks who have devoted their lives for the sake of learning religious preaching. To be a pure monk, one has to abide by strict discipline and make a lot of sacrifices.
Chad from the USA is volunteering with us now in one of our monasteries at Boudha. This is his first volunteer. He is very happy to volunteer at this monastery and teach the Monks. Chad teaches approximately 50 monks for 2 hours daily. He says, “I am very excited to work with the monks and to teach them.” Teaching English at the monastery is a great way to learn about Buddhist culture. You can also ask the monks about their lifestyle and meditation techniques. As a result, both the volunteers and monks have a good experience.
